The 2021 release marked the 35th major release of AutoCAD for Windows. As Autodesk's flagship product, by March 1986 AutoCAD had become the most ubiquitous CAD program worldwide.

By doing summer internships that were recommended to me by SRA, I have discovered the type of work environment that I would like to be in.A man using AutoCAD 2.6 to digitize a drawing of a school building.ĪutoCAD was derived from a program that began in 1977, and then released in 1979 called Interact CAD, also referred to in early Autodesk documents as MicroCAD, which was written prior to Autodesk's (then Marinchip Software Partners) formation by Autodesk cofounder Michael Riddle. Having the list of internships that I can apply to readily available for me, is something that I always look at when applying for summer internships. Every year, my advisor Paula helps me find summer internships and opportunities that fit very well with what I want to do as a career. SRA has always given me the support that I need in order for me to achieve my career goals. How has SRA supported you on your career development journey? Every internship is a learning experience, not only do you learn more about the company, but also about yourself. Whenever you’re applying to internships, apply to as many as you can, until you find the one that’s best for you. At first, I was afraid of applying because I didn’t think I would like it, but it turns out that I love the company and the environment here. I had applied to three different internships before applying to Autodesk.

The advice I want to give to other students looking for internships, is to never be afraid to apply to different internships, even if they do not look as interesting to you. This internship relates to my goals because I get to use Maya for my project, which allows me to be creative and also learn more about the software used in many animated films.ĭo you have any advice for other students looking for internships? After I graduate, I want to go more into film and media, although this is a software company, Autodesk owns Maya which is used in animated movies. One surprising thing that I really like about Autodesk is all of the kitchen areas that they have and that they have a gym here at the office. The most fun part of my experience so far has been getting to know all the other interns who come from different states and schools.

My favorite part of the internship would be going to all the intern events, meeting new people and also the free food that we get.

What is your favorite part of your internship? My daily duties include doing research, going to meetings, talking to sources both internally and externally, and for my project specifically, I get to use the software. For my project, I decided to focus on college students and how we can make their customer support experience feel more personalized and making sure they are getting all the resources they need. My duty this summer is to create a project focusing on customers and how we can provide better customer support to Autodesk customers. I am the Global Product Support intern at Autodesk, focusing on customer support success. What projects are you working on in your internship? Learn more about what a typical day looks like for Rogelio in his internship, what his favorite part has been, and his advice for other students searching for internships! He’s currently interning at Autodesk as a Global Product Support Intern, a role focused on customer support success. Rogelio Rodriguez is going into his fourth year at the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in Political Science and exploring a major in Communications.
